Ontario’s FHO+ model officially takes effect on April 1, 2026, introducing new compensation structures, updated accountability measures, and expanded monitoring requirements for family physicians.
To support physicians through this transition, DoctorCare hosted a webinar, “FHO+: Preparing Your Practice for What’s Next” focused on helping practices understand how the model works. In this session, we walk through how physicians will bill and earn under FHO+, how continuity of care will be assessed, and the key metrics practices should monitor under the new model.
We were joined by Dr. Adam Stewart, MD, FCFP, an Ontario family physician and expert in practice efficiency and primary care economics, who shared practical insights from frontline experience.
In this session we cover:
- Time-based payment structure and hourly billing codes
- Shadow billing, procedure code, and premium increases
- Patient attachment incentives and new codes
- Continuity of care requirements
- Monitoring and optimization under FHO+
Watch the session to better understand how FHO+ affects your practice and what it means for your billing and income.
